MAC for Windows XP

Finding a Mac Address for Network Cards in Windows XP: Method 1

  1. Click Start, then click Run.

  2. In the Run dialog box, type in "cmd".

  3. In the MS DOS prompt window, type "ipconfig/all".

  4. The MAC address is listed as the Physical Address in the section labeled Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection.

Finding a Mac Address for Network Cards in Windows XP: Method 2

  1. Click Start, then click Control Panel (or highlight Settings, then click Control Panel).

  2. The Control Panel will either prompt you to Pick A Category or list a series of icons.
    a) If it is set to Pick A Category, click Network and Internet connections. In the next area, click Network Connections.
    b) If it lists a series of icons, click Network Connections.

  3. In the Network Connections window, locate the Local Area Network, usually designated as having a 10/100 or 100 connection speed.

  4. Right-click on the Local Area Network or Wireless Area Network and select Status.

  5. In the Status window, click on the Support tab, then click the Details button.

  6. In the Details window, the MAC address appears as the Physical Address.
