Outlook Express Setup
Set Up an Email Account Using Outlook Express (OE)
- Click Start, highlight All Programs and locate Outlook Express.
— For non-Windows XP machines, click Start, highlight Programs and locate OE.
— If this is the first time the customer has used OE, he/she will be greeted by an Internet Connection Wizard.
— If the Wizard does not appear, click Tools > Accounts. This will bring up the Internet Accounts Window.
- Click Add, then Mail.
— This brings up the Internet Connection Wizard.
- Enter your name in the Display Name field, then click the Next button.
— The display name is what will appear when messages are sent out. It does not need to be the same as the customer's email address.
- Enter your full email address and click the Next button.
- Set the incoming mail server to POP3, then set the incoming and outgoing email server addresses. Click Next.
— If you do not know the incoming and outgoing email server addresses, contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP).
- Enter the Username (full email address) and Password. If desired, check Remember Password.
— Note: DO NOT CHECK "Logon using the Secure Password Authentication (SPA)".
- Click the Next button.
- Click the Finish button to complete the OE setup.
- Click Tools > Accounts, then the Mail tab.
- Locate the new email account you just setup and click the Properties button.
- Click the Servers tab, then check My Server Requires Authentication. Click the Settings button.
- Place the dot next to Use same settings as my incoming mail server, then click the OK button.
- Click the OK button to close the Properties window.
To access the settings:
- Click Tools, then Accounts.
- In the accounts window, click the Mail tab and locate the mail.multiband.us entry.
- Click the entry, then the Properties button.
The Properties window must be set up as follows:
- On the Servers tab, the account name will be the entire email address and the password will be the password.
- My Server requires that authentication be checked and the incoming and outgoing mail servers are: mail.multiband.us.
- None of the boxes should be checked on the Advanced tab.
